Instead of dancing today we watched the video of their piece. Ms. Donk asked them to write down a few critiques and a few good things they noticed. It was interesting seeing the piece on film, because I got a totally different perspective. Also, it was interesting seeing what they thought they needed to work on, and what about it they liked. The majority of their comments were negative, like "we weren't on the music," or "I forgot a step." The only positive thing they really said was that they liked the choreography. I guess the semi-performance yesterday didn't help their confidence as much as I thought it did. I just hope they don't get shy once they get in front of their peers, because the piece really does look great.
